You may have already heard, but this Saturday is the big day for our Shirts & Shots Event, which celebrates community through creators Proof Artisan Distillers, Fargo Coffee & Dak & Collaboratives. We came together to bring you an event where you can come, chill and connect with the community. We're kicking the night off with a social hour from 4pm - 5pm followed by live music by XPLOR Music and a Coffee-inspired Mixology class by Proof's Andrea Anderson. We're also kicking off our month-long Dak & Co Pop Up Shop in Fargo Coffee.
Whether you're transitioning your wardrobe, or taking on a bigger life transition, all types of transitions can bring growth to your life if you allow them to. The idea of transition, or "change" can be daunting, and even evoke fear in us - especially if we are entering into something with an unknown outcome. Yet, if we allow it to, it can bring us knowledge, insight and positive growth in our lives, even if what we are facing is challenging.
Life is always surprising us with peaks and valleys, highs and lows, times when we are on top of the world, and times that we feel lower than dirt. There's no running away or escaping seasons of life, but we can find ways to embrace each season for what it is, and even better, to learn from it. Lately I've been in a mindset which has allowed me to experience conversations with people about how they embrace both the high points, as well as the low points life brings us. It's been insightful, educational and has helped me conquer the naysaying inner voice in my own heart as well.
Yesterday I had one of those enlightening conversations that truly changed my perspective of how I view something which I thought I feared. It helped me put to rest a fear that always seems to find its way back into my thoughts. The word “failure” is a word none of us like to hear or think about yet we all have moments in our lives where we fear this very word, as it looms in our lives, waiting to enter into our reality. The good news is that we can (and should) change our perspective on the word, so it can propel us forward instead of hold us back.
I sat down with James and had a heartfelt conversation with him about dreams, goals, aspirations and how it really feels as you work on turning them into realities. We touched on many parts of the creative journey, including pioneering a creative idea to life in a place of growth. The idea of pioneering a creative idea can be exciting and scary all at the same time. Pioneers create movements in places that haven’t seen those movements yet. They see the potential for growth in new places, and also understand there may be resistance bringing an unfamiliar idea to a new place. Here are ways you can trailblaze your idea into life.
